The Legend of Chang'e
Ten Suns & The Hero Hou Yi
In the primeval era, ten suns shone in the sky, scorching all living things. The hero Hou Yi — an unparalleled archer — raised his golden bow and shot down nine suns, saving mankind from misery.
As a reward, the Queen Mother of the West granted him an elixir of immortality. But Hou Yi could not bear to part with his beloved wife, Chang'e, so he gave the pill to her for safekeeping — a testament to their unwavering love.
In her most desperate moment, she chose the sky — so that love would forever be the moonlight illuminating the world.
Chang'e's Fateful Choice
One night, the traitor Feng Meng broke in and threatened her, forcing Chang'e to hand over the elixir. In desperation, she swallowed it. Her body suddenly became as light as a breeze, soaring up to the high moon.
Since then, Chang'e became the Moon Goddess. Every full moon of the eighth lunar month, she descends to the mortal realm, bringing blessings and enduring longing. That is why the moon in August is always the roundest and brightest of the year.
The Origin of Mooncakes
Symbol of Reunion
Since ancient times, the circle has been a sacred symbol of wholeness and reunion. The mooncake, with its round shape like the full moon, represents the gathering of Vietnamese families every autumn.
Each cake is a message: no matter how life pulls us, family is the place to return to, the bright moon lighting the way for each of us. Gifting each other mooncakes in premium wooden boxes is how the Vietnamese express love every reunion season.
Mooncakes are not just food — they are sacred offerings connecting generations, a message of love through each layer of the crust.
Wooden Mooncake Boxes — Corporate Excellence
